Our Story

Earthwise was founded by Claire Rosling in 2015 with the simple aim of getting more children outdoors and re-connected with food, farming and the natural world.

Food and Farming

We're in an age where increasing numbers of young people are growing up indoors, detached from the natural world that surrounds them. With this often comes a lack of understanding of where food comes from so it is no surprise that we're raising an obese generation.

By getting children 'Earthwise', experiencing the journey of food from seed to harvest to plate we believe that we can re-connect children with the beauty of food and encourage healthier eating habits.

Earthwise are working in partnership with The Community Farm, a beautiful Organic farm in Chew Magna, to offer School Visits, children's holiday activity days and Seasonal Cookery Days for children and families.

Forest School

We believe that there's no better classroom than the great outdoors...whether its to learn curriculum subjects like science or maths or important life skills such as cooperation and trust, all of these things can be learnt in and from the wonderful outdoors (especially the forest!). Forest School is a fantastic tool for putting curriculum subjects into context - what better a way to learn about angles than using a saw to craft wood that you've harvested from the forest?

Children learn best when they're having fun!

Through spending more time outdoors and gaining a greater understanding of the ecosystem that we are a part of also helps to build a greater respect for it.

Earthwise run Forest School sessions for schools and in the school holidays in both the Chew Valley and Bristol.
