Wild Child Forest School

A fortnightly Forest School for toddlers and pre-school children and their parents / carers at Batcombe Lodge, near Frome and Bruton.

Our age-range is toddler-5 year olds however younger (non walking) siblings are welcome free of charge.

Every session we'll get hand-on using hand tools and making natural crafts, we'll cook snacks to share over a campfire, sing songs, explore, play, get muddy and have fun! In addition to the wonderful wild woods we'll have rope swings, hammock, rope ladders and a mud kitchen to keep them busy!

Your first session is a one-off taster day and thereafter, we take advance bookings for the rest of the term on fortnightly fridays as follows:

NB. Sessions run in term-time only.

Cost

£8 for the first child and £4 for additional children / toddlers. Pre-walking babies free :-) Cost includes hot chocolate and snack. Tea and coffee available for grown-ups! Excluding taster sessions (which are paid on the day), payments are made in advance for the rest of the term.

About our Forest School Leader

Claire is a qualified Forest School Leader (Level 3) with over over 6 years experience and specialises in working with the early years. In addition to running weekly forest school sessions for nursery and reception at Wells Cathedral School she also has two children of her own under 5 years old. She is DBS checked, paediatric first aid trained, food safety trained and holds public liability insurance. Certificates available on request.

Cancellation Policy

Except for taster sessions, bookings are made in advance for the term and since spaces are limited we regret that we cannot offer refunds if you and your child are unable to attend any sessions paid for in advance.

If situations out of our control ('acts of god') force us to cancel a session, for example high winds, electrical storms or icy ground we will offer you a credit towards the following term. If we need to cancel a session for any other reason you will be offered a refund or a credit. In all cases where we need to cancel we will let you know as soon as possible.
