Spring Family Crafts: sun-catchers & dream-catchers (afternoon session)

  • The Community Farm Denny Ln Chew Magna, England, BS40 8SZ United Kingdom (map)

Join us this Spring as we celebrate the return of our longer days by making sun-catchers! For slightly more adventurous spirits we'll also be making dream-catchers for you to take home and decorate your homes. We'll begin with a walk around the farm to spot the signs of Spring and to sensitively collect natural materials which we'll take back to our yurt and start crafting!

If you and your children love crafting and you would like to explore new ideas or perhaps you lack the time, energy and resources to make it happen at home then this is the perfect opportunity! Whether you or your child want to craft something together or idependently it's up to you.

It was so wonderful to see parents and children come together to craft at our Festive craft day and this inspired us to start our seasonal natural craft events at The Community Farm. Here is some feedback from our Festive craft day:

"Brilliantly thought out – great to have stuff that the kids could do independently and also more involved for them to help adults out with."

"Great opportunity to spend some special time crafting with my daughter in a festive and welcoming atmosphere."

Families with children age 3+ welcome! Siblings under 3 years are free.

Teas, coffee and elderflower cordial and nibbles will be provided.

All materials are provided but if you have a found natural material that you would like to bring in and use then please do!

£16 (plus booking fee) for 1 adult and 1 accompanying child

Due to space restrictions in our yurt we need to limit tickets to 1 adult and 1 child however, if you would like to book an additional child or adult we can offer a 10% discount on the total cost. Please contact for more information.

The sessions will be facilitated by Claire Rosling and Johanna Bohlen. Claire is the founder of Earthwise and runs the educational visits to The Community Farm and has over 6 years experience of running Forest School sessions. She currently runs seasonal Family Natural Craft days and family Pick & Cook days at The Community Farm. Johanna is also Forest School trained and alongside Forest School she also currently works in an outdoors nursery.
