Kids' Festive Pick & Cook

Join us for some Festive Family Foodie Fun at The Community Farm this winter.

We'll be cozying up in our yurt (equipped with wood-burner) giving the opportunity for children and parents to come together to harvest crops from our fields and learn how to make some tasty treats in time for the Christmas festivities. During the session, families will work together to prepare a festive, seasonal feast to share!

Fantastic children's chef, Jo Ingleby, and Claire Rosling from Earthwise will lead the day and with their powers combined this is sure to be a day of fabulous festive foodie fun!

NB. All dishes prepared will be vegetarian and we always design the menu to accommodate any dietary requirements of the group.


We will be holding two separate cookery sessions for different age ranges:

10am-12pm: 2-7 year olds (must be accompanied by an adult)

1pm-3pm: 8-16 year olds

NB. This is just used as a guide so if you have two children that fall in different age groups please use your own judgement.

To ensure that families get the most out of their experience, places are limited to just 10 children (with a maximum of one accompanying adult per family). Please book early to avoid disappointment.

About Jo Ingleby

Jo was awarded 'Cook of the Year' at the BBC Food & Farming 2015. She runs cookery sessions for two to four year olds at Bristol's Redcliffe Children's Centre and is a tutor at Demuth's Vegetarian Cookery School in Bath. Jo runs seasonal vegetarian cookery days at the farm for both children and adults and also write the popular recipe cards in The Community Farm veg-boxes.

Cancellation policy

If for whatever reason you need to cancel your booking, we offer a full refund up to 7 days prior to the course date. For cancellations with less than one week’s notice you will only receive a refund if we can find someone to take your place.

In the unlikely event that we have to cancel the course we aim to give you at least 24 hours notice and you will receive a full refund.

NB. In the event of very high winds, electrical storms or icy weather we may be forced to cancel the event.
