Our half-term Forest Fun returns and this time we’ll be getting crafty with wood and words as ‘The Wild of the Words’ join us for some interactive storytelling!
Monday 29th October, 10am-3pm
Tuesday 30th October, 10am-3pm
What's in store...
Over the two days children will learn how to safely use a range of hand-tools for green-wood working, crafting something to take home; cook snacks over the fire; play woodland games and have fun on rope swings, hammock and rope ladders. On the second day we have the wonderful Pridie Tiernan from The Wild of the Words joining us for some interactive story-telling! Expect a wild and wacky mix of arty crafting, tall tales around a camp fire, dress up, duelling and sparky story-spinning as we bring the Legends of King Arthur fully to life in a very real woodland world.
It's the perfect antidote the the school classroom!
In addition to facilitating planned activities we always ensure that the days are also very child-led, encouraging them to explore, play, make and learn, both independently and together as a group.
This event is for children aged 4-7 years old however we do welcome older siblings (NB. all 4 year olds must be 'school age'). We always work with a maximum of 10 children and a small age-range to ensure that activities are made hands-on and achievable for the whole group.

Do I drop children off or do parents stay?
Parents drop children off for both days. Timings of both days are 10am-3pm. The day is run by Claire Rosling (founder of Earthwise) and an assistant both of whom are DBS checked.
Siblings are entitled to a 10% discount on bookings. Please use the code Sibling
We'll be out in the wild woods without any permanent toilet facilities and so will be providing a temporary, private (and hygienic) latrine that we will show children how to use. A great skill to learn for wild camping!
