Bristol Food Connections: Family Pick & Cook

Once again, we're teaming forces with award winning chef Jo Ingleby for a special Family Pick & Cook day as part of Bristol Food Connections Festival!

Kids will be getting hands-on harvesting crops from the fields at The Community Farm, and cooking them up into a fresh, seasonal, organic feast to share.

In-line with this year's festival theme of 'Time', we'll be exploring how long those crops have taken to grow, from seed to harvest and then from field-to-fork!

Children aged 2-16 welcome (accompanied by an adult).

Jo Ingleby (BBC Cook of the year 2015) and Claire Rosling from Earthwise will be leading the day. With their great experience combined, this is sure to be a fantastic experience for those budding chefs and fussy eaters alike!

NB. All dishes prepared will be vegetarian and we always design the menu to accommodate any dietary requirements of the group.

Timings

We will be holding two separate cookery sessions as follows:

10am-12.30pm

1.30pm-4pm

Cost

£29 (includes a meal for 1 child and 1 adult)

To ensure that families get the most out of their experience, places are limited to just 10 children (with a maximum of one accompanying adult per family). Please book early to avoid disappointment.

About Jo Ingleby

Jo was awarded 'Cook of the Year' at the BBC Food & Farming 2015. She runs cookery sessions for two to four year olds at Bristol's Redcliffe Children's Centre and is a tutor at Demuth's Vegetarian Cookery School in Bath. Jo runs seasonal vegetarian cookery days at the farm for both children and adults and also write the popular recipe cards in The Community Farm veg-boxes.
