Autumn Family Pick & Cook

  • The Community Farm Chew Magna, England, BS40 8SZ United Kingdom (map)

Come and celebrate the harvest!

Bring the family along to pick crops fresh from the fields of The Community Farm to cook into a seasonal, vegetarian feast with award winning children's chef, Jo Ingleby.

Morning session: 10am-12.30pm

Afternoon session: 1.30pm-4pm

Autumn is the best time of year to visit the farm with fields full to the brim with beautiful organic crops. During the session we'll be going on a pumpkin (and squash) hunt, learning a bit about nature friendly farming and harvesting some other autumn treats along the way.

Our young chefs will then get to work in our farm kitchen under Jo Ingleby's expert guidance to prepare a truly seasonal feast for us to share at the end of the course.

We recommend that children are aged 3+ and we encourage a mixed group of older and younger children.

Nibbles and refreshments will be provided part-way through the session.

Due to the nature of seasonal food we cannot share exactly what we'll be cooking on the day as it is dependent on the crops that will be available on the day. If your child is a particularly 'fussy' eater then we find that the experience of harvesting and preparing the food themselves is a fantastic way to encourage chidlren to try something new :-)

£29 (plus booking fee) for 1 child and 1 accompanying adult. This includes refreshments, nibbles and a meal for you and your child.

To purchase a ticket for an additional child - select 2 tickets and use promotional code 'SIBLING' to take 10% off your total order.

To purchase a ticket for an additional adult - please select 2 tickets and use promotional code 'Extra-Adult' to take 10% off your total order.

Our Cookery Days are held at The Community Farm in Chew Magna - a beautiful Organic farm South of Bristol, over-looking Chew Valley Lake. Click here for a map.
